After the results announced BJP scores 104 and emerged as the single largest party but left short from the majority, on the other hand, Congress won 78 seats and JD(S) won 38 seats and in the mood of forming an anti-BJP government.
After the results declared and no party gets the complete majority, Governor of Karnataka by rules invited BJP to form the government. Congress and JD(S) opposed against this move and pleaded SC(Supreme Court) to interfere.
Supreme Court denied interference and said Governor decision should be obeyed.
SC ordered BJP to prove their majority through FloorTest on Saturday(19/5/2018) at 4pm.
Now the question arises,
Can BJP prove majority?
BJP has upper hand in diplomacy as they form the government in different states (Goa, Manipur etc) despite having fewer seats than other parties and in Karnataka, they are the largest party and surely want to form the government.
On the other hand, Congress doesn't want to lose another state as Election2019 is not far away, they surely want some momentum carried with them till next elections in Rajasthan and MP. Congress gets JD(S) support as they both have the same aim (anti-BJP govt).
Both parties escaped their elected MLA ahead of FloorTest, Congress & JD(S) were disappointed because Governor doesn't invite them first.
Inbetween hustle 2 MLA were missing and that gave a spark.
BJP in response said they will prove majority easily and form the government.
Why Congress needs to dispatch their MLA's away from ground zero, aren't they loyal?
Next time before an election, Why don't Congress sign some affidavit from their member that they should remain loyal to the party.
Why don't they go on tour to Italy, also a 2nd headquarter (virtually)?
