After the results announced BJP scores 104 and emerged as the single largest party but left short from the majority, on the other hand, Congress won 78 seats and JD(S) won 38 seats and in the mood of forming an anti-BJP government. After the results declared and no party gets the complete majority, Governor of Karnataka by rules invited BJP to form the government. Congress and JD(S) opposed against this move and pleaded SC(Supreme Court) to interfere. Supreme Court denied interference and said Governor decision should be obeyed.
