Assam Government trying to impress student community before The Legislative Assembly Elections 2021

A move to impress the student community before the coming elections, Assam Government announced that they will provide Rs100 to girls every day they attend school. State Education Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma told TOI about it.

With less than 4 months in the legislative assembly election 2021 which is scheduled in April. All the contesting parties started their planning and trying to find ways to attract voters, in a bid to attract voters current BJP Government announced this gift, with getting hand in hand with "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" scheme this Rs100 per day offer is an exciting one.

If we leave politics aside you can say this is an exciting and pretty valuable offer that must be accepted by the public. Another provision of providing Rs1500 and Rs2000 for UG and PG students respectively in January is announced with a reason that they can buy books with this amount.

Elections come with lots of "gift" for the general public which they were expecting in the form of duty for the past 5 years but without any cross-questioning, they will accept it, and the cycle repeats. We tend to incline more towards short term benefits that we forget about the long term success or as the others say we don't see the bird's view.

What will it cost if we ask our government to build a better infrastructure instead of paying us penny now?

You can say that providing Rs1500 to UG students or Rs2000 to PG students will be a great initiative by the government and that too in the time of the pandemic, but look it with a different perspective, Why can't government buildup a centralised library for the state that will help the students? and that too with an ample amount of books present in it with an updating plan every 5 years.

The answer is simple, you will not get an instant result as the planning and execution will take time, the students will be satisfied with any amount of money they receive so that's why the government don't look the other way around. The government may want to build the infrastructure that will be beneficial for the long run but the political unit in them want a quick result because the public wants the quick result or immediate solution.
